KENNETH BLYTHE CFSP, CCO Co-Owner

Co-Owner of Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is a licensed embalmer and Funeral Director.  He currently serves as  on various committees with Alabama Funeral Directors Association.  A member of the Alabama Funeral Trust Board, member of the Independent Funeral Group and a member of the National Funeral Directors Association

 

Married to Rhonda Blythe of Athens and have two children, Kenneth Blythe II and Brigette Miller of Athens, AL and 3 Grandchildren Briley Miller,Grayson Miller,and Easton Miller.

LANCE DAVIS Co-Owner

Lance holds a BS Degree in Accounting from Athens State University. He received his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1994. Lance is the managing member of the the accounting firm Davis & Cole, LLP.

 

He joined Kenny Blythe and Mike Davis in acquiring Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in 2008. He serves as the finanical officer of the company. 

 

In his spare time, he has served as Head Basketball Coach at Athens Bible School.

 

Lance is married to April Davis and has two children, Mackenzie and Luke.

MIKE DAVIS Co-Owner

Davis is a Licensed Funeral Director and is a member of the Alabama Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.

 

Judge Davis served as Judge of Probate of Limestone County, Alabama for twenty-eight years.  He retired in May 2011.

 

Davis was married to the former Sandra White Davis for 32 years until her death in 2001. Davis is currently married to Denise Doss Davis and between the two have five children: Lance Davis, who is married to the former April Melvin (children: Mackenzie and Luke); Dr. Chad Davis,  who is married to the former Brandy Fleming (children: Kyle, Jenna and Katelyn); Kristi Miles, a pharmaceutical sales representative,  who is married to Jake Miles (children: Cade, Cole and Cannon); Wes Coleman, a graduate of the University of North Alabama; and Mary Ellen Coleman, a Registered Nurse.  

 

He is the proud “Pop” of eight grandchildren.

STEVEN WIGHT Co-Owner | Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

Steven joined the company as a partner in 2009. Steven was born and raised in Madison County, Alabama. He graduated from Randolph School in Huntsville, AL in 1984. He has attended John C. Calhoun Jr. College, Martin Methodist College, Athens State College, and Jefferson State College. He has a Bachelor of Science in Education (Math) and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Funeral Service Education. He moved to the Ardmore community in 1986 as a United Methodist pastor. He has also taught school here in the Ardmore area. He is a licensed Funeral director in both Alabama and Tennessee, and a licensed Embalmer in the state of Alabama. He has worked in the funeral profession since 1991.

 

He is a member of the Ardmore Lion's Club and a past president of the Ardmore AL/TN Chamber of Commerce.

 

He is married to Marlon Clem Wight and has two children; Wesley and Nathan.

CHARLES JEFFREY (C.J.) SHOCKNEY Manager/ Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer

C.J. entered the funeral services in 2000, he attended John C. Calhoun Jr. College, and graduated from Jefferson State College, with a Associates in Applied Science degree in Funeral Service Education in 2003. He is a licensed Tennessee and Alabama Funeral director and a licensed Embalmer in the state of Alabama.

 

C.J. married in 1982, to Lois Ervin Shockney of Lewisburg, Tennessee, blessed with three sons; Robert and wife Beth Mathis Shockney of Ardmore, AL, James Shockney of Elkmont, AL, Daniel and wife Delila Bell Shockney of Ardmore, AL; and five grandchildren Gracie, Hope, Faith, Payton and Carson.

 

He has lived in the Harvest, Toney, Monrovia, and Hollands Gin areas for the past 30 years, moved to the Taft, TN area in 2016.

 

C.J. is a member of the Ardmore Lion's Club.

JAMES MAXWELL SHOCKNEY Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

James grew up in the Harvest and Monrovia area graduating from Sparkman High School in 2003. He has lived in the Hollands Gin community since 2006. After high school he spent 5 years working in the home building industry of Madison and Limestone counties.

 

In 2008, James entered the Funeral Industry. In 2013 he recieved his Associates in Applied Science Degree from Jefferson State Community College, James holds his Funeral Directors and Embalmers License's in both Alabama and Tennessee. He has since been proudly serving the North Alabama and Southern Middle Tennessee areas.

RAMONA BROWN Apprentice Funeral Director

Ramona was born and raised in Fort Payne, Alabama, graduating from Fort Payne High School 1990. She earned an Associate Science Degree from Northeast Alabama Community College in 1993. Graduated from Athens State College in 1997, BS in early childhood and elementary education.

 

Ramona is married to Sandy Brown and they moved to Limestone County in 1993. They have one daugther Olivia who was born in 2007.

 

Ramona joined Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in 2017 and is currently serving her apprenticeship as Funeral Director and received her certificate in Funeral Directing in 2018 from Jefferson State Community College.

RONDA GARNER Licensed Funeral Director

Ronda is a native of Ardmore, Alabama. A 1973 graduate of Ardmore High School, she received a bachelor's degree in Business Education and English. She received her master's Degree and AA from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama.

 

She is currently retired from teaching with the Limestone County School System at Ardmore High School after 32 years.  She is also a licensed Funeral Director. 

 

She is married to Glen Garner who is the Principal at Cedar Hill Elementary School. They attend Holland's Gin Church of Christ in Elkmont, Alabama.

GAY LEWTER Office Manager/ Funeral Assistant

Gay is a native of Elkmont, Alabama. She graduated from Elkmont High School in 1975. After high school, she immediately went to work at the Bank of Ardmore for 24 1/2 years. She also worked at Regions, 1st American and Reliance Banks for a total of 40 years in the banking industry, before coming to Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.

 

Gay is married to her husband Dewayne Lewter and they are the parents of Chad Hobbs and Wendy Hobbs.

 

She is a member of Community Baptist Church.

DALE MITCHELL Funeral Assistant

Lonnie Dale Mitchell is a native of North Alabama. He was born in Athens, Alabama and graduated from Ardmore High School in 1966. He attended Tennessee Temple University and has been the pastor of Parkview Baptist Church in Ardmore, Alabama for the past 20+ years. He is married to Shirley Faye Mitchell and has two sons, Jamie and Jeremy and one daughter Tonya Faulk. He also has six grandchildren.

RENEE WALES Funeral Assistant

Renee Wales is a native of Ardmore, Alabama and graduated from Ardmore High School. She was employed by Calhoun Community College for seventeen years while she continued her education. She graduated from Athens State University in elementary education and was employed by the Limestone County Board of Education. She retired in 2008.

 

She was married to the late Joe Mack Wales and has two children: Mathew Wales and Josh Wales.
